PRODUCTS SAFETY EYEWEAR 3M SecureFit Protective Eyewear, 3M's newest line of safety eyewear, enhances comfort and wearability by seamlessly integrating self-adjusting temples and a secure fit into a single product. Designed with 3M's proprietary pressure diffusion temple technology, SecureFit protective eyewear naturally adjusts to individual head sizes to help reduce eyewear slippage and discomfort. Company researchers developed the pressure diffusion temple technology after completing a comprehensive study that examined different face shapes and sizes from around the world. The study identified approximately 600 different touch points on the human face that then guided the design and fit of the protective eyewear line. SecureFit weighs in at less than 1 oz., is available in three shades: clear, amber and gray, and comes with either anti-fog or anti-scratch lens coatings to best adapt to an individual's working environment. 3M, http://solutions.3m.com BAGHOUSE PERFORMANCE ANALYZER AND CONTROLLER FilterSense's B-PAC series of Baghouse Performance Analyzers and Controllers includes a combination of features to help powder processing, air pollution control and dust collection users meet regulatory compliance while simultaneously reducing operating costs and improving the process. The controllers tightly integrate control, sensing and high-speed digital signal analysis to provide time- and money-saving diagnostics, including the ability to detect/locate filter leaks weeks before emissions are visible; to detect/locate failed pulse solenoids that can lead to plugged filters; and to instantly detect/locate ruptured or frozen pulse-jet diaphragms. The controller also provides intelligent filter cleaning which extends filter life and lowers emissions while reducing compressed air use by 15 to 40 percent over traditional PLC programming and up to 90 percent over continuous cleaning. Optional software provides enhanced process control features and further automation of compliance record keeping. A series of models for small cartridge collectors to large multi-compartment baghouses are available. The controllers are heavyduty products designed for long life in harsh process environments. FilterSense, www.filtersense.com 3D LEVEL SCANNER The 3DLevelScanner HT measures the volume and mapping of the material surface in bins, tanks and silos with high temperatures. This newer model of the 3DLevelScanner has an operating temperature range of up to 356 F (180 C) to accommodate high temperatures that may be present when material has been heated in the production process before it is conveyed into storage silos. The device measures the material level in multiple locations in the vessel and estimates the volume in storage silos containing challenging materials such as clinker, alumina, 38 frac sand and fly ash. The sensor sends pulses in a 70-degree beam angle, taking multiple measurements from the material surface and continually mapping the material surface to detect changes in level, account for uneven surface topography, and calculate a highly accurate volume estimate for the contents of the silo. sentation indicates where high and low spots exist in the silo. BinMaster, www.binmaster.com The 3DLevelManager software reports the lowest and highest points detected and the average level based upon a weighted average of all of the measurements detected in the bin.
