PRODUCTS PORTABLE 2-WAY RADIO Operating in the VHF MURS frequency band, the PT-150M, a professionalgrade portable 2-way radio, allows business-only users to operate license free at 2 watts anywhere within the U.S. This saves customers the hassle and expense of licensing that is typically associated with "FCC Part 90 business band" radio frequencies, and provides out-of-the-box functionality and simplicity, noted the manufacturer. The PT-150M features eight channel capacity, which allows maximum use of all 5 MURS frequencies plus reuse of three frequencies for additional work groups, etc. A 1,000-mW speaker provides easy-to-hear clarity and volume. A slim, lightweight design is ergonomic and easy-to-carry and use. The seven-character alphanumeric display provides easy-to-read icons showing battery status, channel scan on/off, keypad lock on/off, and more. Nine programmable function buttons allows access to backlit for keypad, accessing additional features and configuration of the radio. A rugged MIL STD 810F rating, IP65 resistance rating against dust and water, and a clamp-on audio accessory connector ensures long, trouble-free service. Ritron Inc., www.ritron.com DUST COLLECTOR ACCESSORY Clean Sweep, a pneumatic vacuum accessory from Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC), provides an economical clean-up solution by adding a high-vacuum wand to any low-vacuum dust collector. The Clean Sweep unit removes fugitive dust from around the dust collector and adjacent work area, and sends it directly to the collector. The accessory uses a pneumatic vacuum pump that draws the dust into the collector through a vacuum hose system. The pump is powered by the same compressed air line that cleans the dust collector filters, so no extra electricity is required. It will create a vacuum of up to 40-in.-wg at 90 psig compressed air. Dust enters the collector inlet before the channel baffles so that large particles will not contact the filter media. Shut-off valves ensure that the Clean Sweep system is isolated from the collector when not in use and that the vacuum pump delivers compressed air only when the system is in operation.
