CEMENT AMERICAS • Fall 2014 • www.cementamericas.com 22 PRODUCTS nated polyether oil (PFPE) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The product is NSF H1 registered. Common applications include pillow blocks/bearings, seals, rotary joints and ball bearing chains, as well as circulating fan bearings in various textile machinery. Lubricants based on PFPE and PTFE are inert and generally regarded as neutral towards most elastomers and plastics. Klüber Lubrication, www.klueber.com BinMaster introduced the Flow Detect 2000, a reliable, non-in- trusive instrument for the detection of solids flow or no flow in various applications in the material handling industry. It pre- vents downtime caused by blockage, conveyors running empty, no material flow to-and-from a process, or loose slide gates that can cause production loss and equipment failure. This new low-cost, non-intrusive, microwave-based flow/no flow instrument is used to detect flow conditions of solids and powders in gravity chutes, feeders, pipelines, conveyor belts, or bucket elevators. The Flow Detect 2000 contains the sens- ing element, power and output connections, and user adjust- ment controls in a single NEMA 4X enclosure. The sensor is easy to install through a 1/14-in. NPT opening. It is completely non-intrusive and does not come into contact with the flow stream. This eliminates the risk of wear and as- sures long life and reliability. It is appropriate for solids, gran- ules, pellets, meals and powdered materials. An important use is to prevent cross contamination of ingredients by ensuring flow has stopped before a new material is introduced into the flow stream. It uses microwave Doppler technology for highly sensitive mo- tion detection. The high frequency, low power microwaves are able to pass through non-metallic materials. This enables the Flow Detect 2000 to "see through" a plastic pipe, a glass process seal or the wall of a wooden chute to detect the ma- terial inside. A switchable filter incorporated into the signal path of the Doppler output reduces the effect of vibration. This filter also ensures the detection of moderate and fast- flowing materials. The Flow Detect 2000 provides a single analog relay output to communicate flow or no flow status to a PLC. Both normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) contacts are available. Indicators and controls for the initial calibration and set up are easily accessible by simply unscrewing the lid of the device. LED indicator lights for power, flow/no flow and fault condi- tions show the status of the device. Controls for adjusting sen- sitivity and the output delays are used during the initial setup. BinMaster, www.binmaster.com Single-Piece Flow/No Flow Detection Sensor Camfil Air Pollution Control has announced two updates to its popular line of Farr Gold Series cartridge dust and fume collectors. The two improvements – one to the filter access door hardware and the other to the filter clamping system – provide enhanced ease of use, safety and reliability, at no added cost to customers. A new patent-pending clamping system on the door hard- ware provides greater locking strength and makes it easier to close the door. The new system increases compression leverage to a 50:1 ratio when closing the door, providing a reliable seal with 6.5 psi standard strength and eliminating the need for a high pressure door adder. The filter clamping system has also been updated to utilize laser-cut, welded-in clamp bar brackets in place of bolted-in Camfil Updates Popular Line of Dust, Fume Collectors
