Fives Expands in U.S. and Mexico Industrial engineering group Fives has strengthened its global presence with the implementation of a new Cement Minerals sales office in the United States and a new division in Mexico. Through the new U.S. office, Fives will better address the U.S. market to promote FCB technologies and services for the cement and minerals industries, in the fields of equip- ment, systems, revamping and complete line projects, the company said. Fives is established in many countries to be closer to its cli- ents, and offers its expertise in managing all kinds of proj- ects. FCB innovative, sustainable grinding and pyro pro- cessing core process equipment are renowned, bringing cement producers upgraded performance, according to the company. Fives has also joined forces with Simsa to create Fives Grind- ing Mexico. This new company will boost the local presence of the group's Grinding-Ultra Precision business, which sup- plies grinding systems, mainly for the automotive industry. Simsa is a Mexican company that specializes in rebuilding machine tools, mainly for the automotive and aerospace industries, and in providing related services. For more than two decades, Fives has worked with Simsa to develop its machine offer in Mexico. Fives Grinding Mexico will have 15 employees recruited from Simsa and will be based in Aguascalientes. The site will host a design office and a 2,500 sq.-meter workshop with the measurement and inspection equipment needed to certify the modernized machines. It will work closely with Fives Landis Corp. (U.S.) and will share its design capacities. Fives is a favorite machine tool provider among Mexican industrial players: the group has supplied more than 120 camshaft or crankshaft grinders, centerless grinders, dou- ble disc grinders, cylindrical grinders, etc. in the country under the Landis, Giustina and Daisho brands. Cemex USA Recognized for Conservation Efforts Cemex USA announced it was named one of Texan by Nature's 2018 Conservation Wranglers for its ongoing com- mitment to sustainability and land preservation through the El Carmen Land and Conservation Co., LLC (ECLCC). The Texan by Nature Conservation Wranglers program recog- nizes innovative and transformative conservation projects in the state. ECLCC is a combined effort between Cemex USA and J.
