PRODUCTS FILTER TECHNOLOGY Tri-Mer Corp. a technology company spe- cializing in air pollution control systems, has introduced Tri-Flow, a new filtration concept that delivers HEPA-like perform- ance with a MERV 16 rating. Tri-Flow Compact filters are a higher-performing alternative to bag, cartridge and pocket filters, which are typically rated MERV 10-13. They have a small footprint, and an exceptionally large filter surface area. Tri-Flow Compact filters provide two to three times more filtration compared to similarly dimensioned bag (pocket) fil- ters. An even greater increase in filtration area vs. volume is achieved in compar- isons with sleeve-type high efficiency fil- ters. Minimizing the size of a filter lowers manufacturing costs, and gives the OEM or end user flexibility on where to locate the filter. The unique Tri-Flow design pro- vides in-line pulse jet cleaning and main- tains an exceptionally low operating pressure drop. Filter efficiencies of 99.999% on 0.5 micron and larger parti- cles (by weight) are typical. Tri-Flow Compact filters are self-sup- porting and are manufactured using pro- prietary filter media tailored to the appli- cation. There are seven filter media, in- cluding options for oleophobic, high-temperature, and anti-static applica- tions. All media is pleated and continu- ously bonded for maximum dimensional stability and filtration integrity. A rigid base molding protects the elements; a resilient mounting flange provides a dust seal that prevents bypass. Tri-Flow elements have a multi-year service life for virtually all industrial appli- cations. Compared with conventional bag or cartridge-type filters, service life is three to five times longer, with zero com- promise of filter performance. Filter change-out is fast and "tool-free," and, notably, is done from outside the collec- tor, from the clean air plenum side. As a result, it is never necessary to enter the dirty air plenum side for servicing, a fea- ture which eliminates concerns about employee exposure to hazardous dusts. Existing dust collectors can often be adapted to accommodate Tri-Flow Com- pact filters. Tri-Mer, www.tri-mer.com BAGHOUSE PERFORMANCE ANALYZER & CONTROLLER B-PAC Controls built on FilterSense's MICS platform provides the same diag- nostics and automation of fabric filters that standard B-PACs provide, plus ad- ditional time- and money-saving fea- tures, including smart alarms, predictive alerts, parts/consumables management, and remote services. Smart alarms analyze all available process readings to determine the likely cause of an alarm. For example, an alarm condition of high differential pressure would be accompanied by on- screen or field bus communication of the likely cause such as low header pressure or plugged filters. While standard B-PACs provided in- stant detection of failed solenoids, rup- tured pulse diaphragms and filter leaks, the predictive alerts feature provides 20 alerts before failures occur. Consum- ables management features build off predictive alerts with a built-in data- base of original OEM filter parts and consumables and the ability to enter replacement dates and service times. Optional remote services can be pro- vided on an as needed basis using the standard SD service memory card or on continuous basis in conjunction with a preferred fabric filter services company. FilterSense's MICS platform provides a state-of-the-art modular design with built-in industrial HMI/SCADA and a range of field bus choices. Modularity allows simple installation, easy service, and the ability to start with a basic sys- tem adding functionality as desired.
