INNOVATIONS EQUIPMENT & PRODUCTS SHUTTLELIFT DEBUTS DOUBLE-BEAM MOBILE GANTRY CRANES In response to a growing need for efficient and cost-effective lifting solutions, Shuttlelift has launched a new series of double- beam models. According to Director of Industrial Sales Kurt Minten, the new DB Series was designed for plant managers searching for more cost-effective ways to run their operations. "Plant managers have a lot of factors to consider when purchasing new equipment. They want something that is easy to maintain and offers versatility in their lifting environment." Shuttlelift's complete line-up features four diverse mobile gantry crane series designed to work in a variety of applications and industries. The DB model is a double-beam mobile gantry crane designed for long-term, heavy-duty cycle work in a moder- ate terrain environment, making it a strong economical player in the concrete and steel industries. The SL model is designed for lower duty cycle "pick and carry" type jobs. As a single-beam mo- bile gantry crane, the SB model is designed for single point picks and tandem picking. It works in conjunction with any conven- tional rubber-tired gantry crane, regardless of brand. Finally, the ISL model is designed for higher-duty cycles; it can handle a va- riety of load configurations and works well in unimproved terrain environments. A unique feature of this model is the pivot trun- nion that allows the crane to flex when traveling over uneven terrain without causing structural damage. Shuttlelift engineers can propose the ideal lifting solution for cus- tomers' specific needs while factoring in important logistics such as load configurations, duty cycles, yard conditions, and budget. COOLANT ANALYZER The OSA4 CoolCheck is an analytical instrument that performs on- site tests on engine coolant. It determines the coolant formulation (conventional or long-life), as well as identifies problems within the cooling system. Furthermore, the CoolCheck uses an Embedded XP Panel PC that is coupled with a dual path multi-wave spectrom- eter. This technology executes nine diagnostic tests in less than one a minute, and prints an easy-to-understand diagnostic report. The CoolCheck analyzer will report glycol-to-water ratio; report the condition and quality of coolant to protect against freeze up, overheating and engine seizure; identify the presence of any con- taminants that can cause internal radiator damage; and, qualify the integrity of coolant brand to maximize performance. Each OSA4 must have a per- manent form of com- munication. The line will be used to update and repair the analyz- ers remotely. There are two options available for ongoing software and service support: a static IP address accessible through pre-installed PCAnywhere software, or a dynamic or static IP address with a connection to the Internet. The second option will use a secure third-party software program to connect to the analyzer. — On-Site Analysis Inc., www.on-siteanalysis.com WWW.CONCRETEPRODUCTS.COM The complete line of industrial mo- bile gantry cranes offers optional features designed to improve opera- tional safety and increase produc- tivity. A few key options include flexible steering modes, the ability to rotate loads faster and more efficiently, and power management to reduce fuel consumption. — www.shuttlelift.com DUST COLLECTOR DIAGNOSTICS To help dust collector operators reduce op- erating costs, improve the process and meet EPA or OSHA compliance simulta- neously, B-PAC series of Baghouse Per- formance Analyzers and Controllers provide a combination of features. The controllers tightly integrate con- trol, sensing and signal analysis to pro- vide time- and money-saving diagnostics, including the ability to detect/locate filter leaks weeks before emissions are visible; failed pulse solenoids that can lead to plugged filters; and, ruptured or frozen pulse-jet diaphragms where one undetected rupture can cost $1,000 of compressed air in one week. The controller also provides intelligent filter cleaning to extend filter life and lower emissions, while reducing compressed air use by 15–40 percent over traditional PLC programming, and up to 90 percent over continuous cleaning, according to the manufac- turer. Optional software provides enhanced process control fea- tures and further automation of EPA record keeping. A series of models for small cartridge collectors to large multi- compartment baghouses is available. The controllers are easy-to- use, high quality, heavy duty products designed for long-life in harsh process environments. A range of analog and digital I/O are available, as well as all major filed buses including Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, DeviceNet, Profibus and others. — FilterSense, 978/927-4304; www.filtersense.com FEBRUARY 2012 | 55
