BRIEFS ACTIVITIES & APPOINTMENTS ORGANIZATIONS Worcester, Pa.-based American Infrastruc- ture, a heavy civil contractor with con- crete and asphalt production, was pre- sented the Associ- ated Builders and Contractors' 2011 Contractor of the Year award at the association's 22nd Annual Ex- cellence in Construction and National Safety Excellence Award program in February. Each year, ABC recognizes an individual or company that attains a level of achievement that raises the bar for all of us, and American Infrastructure certainly fits the bill," said 2012 ABC National Chairman Eric Regelin, president of Granix, LLC, Ellicott City, Md. (left) "Their commitment to excellence and safety on all levels helps to advance our organiza- tion, the construction industry and the principles of free enterprise." "We are incredibly honored to receive such a coveted award from ABC," said A. Ross Myers, chairman and CEO for American Infra- structure (right in photo). "As a long-time member of the organization and recipient of numerous industry awards over the years, this recognition marks a major milestone for our organization. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team to exceed our customers' expectations while ensuring the safety and development of our employees. We are proud to accept this award." PRECAST SHOW ATTENDANCE REBOUNDS; 2013 SCHEDULE MOVES AHEAD Crediting cautious construction market optimism among producers and their sup- pliers, National Precast Concrete Associ- ation reports a significant spike in floor traffic over prior year figures for the Pre- cast Show, co-located with the 2012 Icon Expo in Orlando. The March 1–3 event marked official attendance of 3,692 and 1,000-plus units of training delivered— the highest for the show's education component since 2008. Along with stronger numbers for the gathering, NPCA has announced new dates for the Precast Show 2013: January 11–13 at the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis. The move from an originally scheduled late-January window distances the Precast Show and co-located 2013 Icon Expo from the World of Concrete, February 5–8 in Las Vegas. 18 | APRIL 2012 WWW.CONCRETEPRODUCTS.COM
